The Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Patrick Jilimah, organized an annual get together for all the New Patriotic Party Executives, chiefs and the various opinion leaders.
The Municipality Cheif Exective used for to formally announce to chiefs and people that Krachi East is no longer a District but has been elevated to Municipal status.
According to him, he received a green card last week Thursday from the Ministry of Local Government to change all letterheads and documents bearing the name District Assembly to Municipal Assembly which is a great achievement by all the people in and around Krachi East.
He therefore, used the opportunity to congratulate all the chiefs, the clergy, various departmental heads, members of the New Patriotic Party and all the people of Krachi East for their quoter contributed in achieving this great success.
According to 2010 Population and Housing Census report, the population of Krachi East then was 116,804 representing 5.5 percent which shows that Krachi East was qualify to be Municipal.
Nana Odame Djanfi, chief of Asukawkaw who double as chairman for Krachi East chiefs, adviced the MCE to collaborate with the chiefs around him so that they also give him the necessary counsel whenever he called on them.
The chief of Adeele community of Dambai, Nana Ntemere also urged the MCE to always remember the people in the municipality first in case there’s any contract due to the unemployment rate among youths in area because they did their best in raising the District to Municipal status.
