The walk which was dubbed #Walk2Win, was preceded by a short workshop/training for all branch youth organizers of the constituency on Friday evening, which the National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo and his two deputies, Edem Agbana and Ruth Elorm Seddoh attended.

The walk on Saturday, was led by the three national executives; George Opare Addo, Edem Agbana and Ruth Elorm Seddoh, Mr. Bright Egeh (Volta regional deputy secretary) and former deputy minister of Tourism and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie, from Hedzranawo through to the Denu township and ended at the Aflao Lowcost Beach, where a short rally was held.

Addressing the gathering at the beach, the National Youth Organizer, Mr. George Opare Addo charged Youth wing to work hard in getting the party back to power, saying that the Youth of Ghana are disappointed in the Nana Addo led administration.

The Youth leader also challenged the President, Nana Akuffo-Addo, to be truthful to his words on the fight against vigilantism.

Mr. Edem Agbana in his address, tagged the Nana Addo government as a ‘no show’ government, saying that government in less than two years, has run the country into the highest debt in history, through borrowing, even though they said otherwise in opposition.

“Akuffo-Addo and his people in opposition accused our government of excessive borrowing. It’s shocking to note today that, the current government has passed the test as the government with the most debt through borrowing, with nothing to show for it.”

“The monies we borrowed are the schools, hospitals and roads we have built, to show for it. What has Nana Addo and his people done with the monies they have borrowed?”.

According to him, a government with over a hundred Ministers has performed poorly, leaving Ghanaian disappointed.

“John Mahama had 84 Ministers but have a lot to show, yet with 123 Ministers cannot do anything significant for the people of Ghana”.

He added that the NDC would be back to transform the country and give hope to Ghanaians.

“Today, I want to let you know that the NDC is not against the Free SHS policy. The NDC as a party believes it is a good initiative and I must say we started that policy in a progressive perspective.”

“Unfortunately, for want of electoral gains, what the NPP has introduced has no focus on quality education. The numbers in our classrooms are inconvenient for the quality of education of our children. I assure you today that with unity and your support, the NDC would come back in 2020 to give hope to Ghanaians and help transform the country.”
