A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has proposed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, choose Kennedy Agyapong as his running mate for the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Agyapong, who gave Dr. Bawumia a horse race in the NPP flagbearer elections, has the credibility and integrity to work with Dr. Bawumia, according to Dr. Arthur K.
In an interview on the Ghana Tonight Show on TV3, he said, “The choice of the running mate is always the prerogative of the presidential candidate, and he tells you who he is going to be. I think that in terms of signaling, he can understand the yearning for change.
“Integrity and plain speaking, Kennedy Agyapong deserves serious consideration as a running mate on the NPP side.”
He further stated that the 2024 general elections will be characterized by three key pertinent issues: corruption, nepotism, and incompetence.
He was quick to say that eyes are on the ground to see how the aforementioned issues will be tackled by the contesting candidates in their campaign kits because of the danger they pose to the growth of the country.
“The biggest issues of this election should be corruption, nepotism, and incompetence,” he added.
