In a Press release signed by the Regional Communications Officer, Madam Gabriella Tetteh, the party condemned the glaring incompetence of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration in effectively managing the debilitating traffic congestion plaguing the Kasoa-Winneba route.

“This perpetual gridlock represents a dire safety hazard, inflicting intolerable delays and economic suffering upon motorists, commuters and businesses. The NDC denounces this brazen neglect of the Central Region populace and all affected commuters,” part of the statement read.

The NDC expressed profound dismay at the woefully inadequate response of the Ghana Police Service in alleviating commuter distress.

Additionally, it said, “The absence of proactive traffic management strategies is utterly deplorable,” thus, demanding “immediate action from President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia.”

“The Ministry of Roads and Highways, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, must swiftly execute a comprehensive action plan to tackle the congestion. This includes ensuring on-site contractors establish alternative routes to mitigate disruptions, while the Ghana Police Service must deploy MTTD officers effectively for traffic control,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the party would continue to advocate the cause of the Central Region until the region gets its fair share of attention and development.

“The NDC reaffirms its unwavering commitment to advocating for the Central Region and vows to withstand the continued affliction inflicted by President Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Bawumia upon its populace.”
