Jude Bellingham has praised Kylian Mbappe for his incredible resurgence at Real Madrid, admitting that the French forward is now “flying” and is a formidable force that will pose challenges for teams across Europe.
After a rocky start to life at Madrid following his high-profile free transfer in the summer, Mbappe endured a difficult period, including a series of missed penalties in December that left him at a low point.
However, 2025 has seen Mbappe return to his best, with Wednesday’s hat-trick against Manchester City taking his tally to 27 goals in 37 games this season.
Bellingham, reflecting on Mbappe’s transformation, told TNT Sports: “It’s brilliant, you go into games knowing he is going to affect them if you give him the ball.” He also highlighted Mbappe’s versatility, noting that the forward is a constant threat with both his right and left foot, as demonstrated in his goals against City. “It’s incredible really, what he’s done in his career. I know he had a slow start and he was kind of getting used to life here but now he’s just flying, and it’s a pleasure to watch.”
In an interview after the match, Mbappe admitted that his adjustment period is now over and he is determined to leave a lasting impact at Madrid. “I want to play well here, I want to make a mark on the season,” he said. “The adaptation period for me has ended and now I have to show my quality.”
He also emphasized the importance of the team’s performance against City and vowed to continue pushing for success this season. “We have to continue in this way if we are to win what we want to win this season,” he added.
