According to sources, the National and Constituency leadership of NPP fear John Dumelo will be a big threat to the party in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency should he win the NDC Primaries.

The sources disclosed to Awake News that since the actor’s declaration to contest in the constituency, the NPP has conducted a quick survey which puts the NDC’s John Dumelo ahead of the incumbent MP, Madam Lydia Alhassan who has secured the lowest vote in the history of Ghana to enter into the parliament.

With this relation, the NPP is of the strong view that best way to secure the seat is to financially support John Dumelo’s contender who they said: “is a fairly new face in the Ayawaso West Wougon” hence given her a weaker ground in 2020.

The party has through a top woman who is government appointee at the Presidency (name withheld) together with the Constituency leadership are tasked to make every needed effort to get the agenda hashed.

The source revealed that some NDC executives in the constituency have also been approached with this plan and some allegedly have accepted to get the plan implemented.

Last week Sunday, Awake News reported that following the news that John Dumelo has picked up a nomination for to contest for the seat, fear has gripped the NPP with an NPP activist saying:

If John wins the NDC primaries it will spell doom for us [the NPP]. I’m just wondering how Lydia [the incumbent MP] is going match John in 2020
