Former Eastern Regional Minister Seth Acheampong has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) benefits from being in opposition, using it as an opportunity to reflect, reform, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Speaking in an interview on Channel 1 Television, he noted that unlike other political parties, the NPP is known for stepping back during opposition periods to re-evaluate systems and propose impactful reforms for Ghana’s progress.
Acheampong was critical of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s “reset agenda,” asserting that the NDC lacks the vision and capacity to deliver on it.
He believes that the NPP, with its experience and innovative approach, will eventually repackage and implement such policies more effectively to benefit the nation.
He emphasized that opposition allows the NPP to help Ghana by developing better strategies and solutions. Despite suggestions that the party may remain in opposition for a long time, Acheampong urged party faithful to remain respectful of the decisions being made within the party, expressing optimism about the future.
