The special prosecutor bill from it’s drafting stage through it’s passage by Parliament to the appointment of Martin Amidu has been characterized with series of controversies.
Martin Alamisi Amidu who has been at the center of controversy when [ads1]the bill was drafted claiming it was unconstitutional has now accepted to head the office he claimed was unlawful.
Another controversy prior to his appointment was his “hatred” for the former administration which he claimed was a defense of the 1992 constitution.
There were lots of instances he vowed to see the NDC, his own party in opposition because he disagrees with us in principle.
Today during the part one of his vettings, I was happy lot’s of those issues came up from both the minority and the majority side for him to assure the general public of neutrality to all manner of persons despite their political affiliation.
In his response, he said from the day of his appointment he has become a public servant and will act as such without the cover cloth of witch hunting.
We wish him well in his new in part two of the vetting and his subsequent approval by Parliament.
