The NDC has suffered in taken the seat of Okaikoi North Constituency since 1992 making it 24yers now.
Speaking at the official campaign launch and the unveiling of the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi North, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the largest opposition party in Ghana, Mr Joseph Ade Coker, started the wind of change is rolling everywhere due to the mentioning one a woman as a running mate to partner H.E. John Dramani Mahama who doubled as the flagbearer of the NDC to wrestling power from sleeping governing NPP and lying H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
He reiterated to the fact that since democracy came to being in Ghana the people of Okaikoi North have suffered from the hands of NPP government but each time NDC is in power NDC make sure that the people of Okaikoi North benefit from the share of cake of the Ghana resources and developmental projects.
According to him, the NDC is poised to wrestling power from H.E.Nana Addo and unseating Hon Fusieni who is the MP for Okaikoi North Constituency.
Mr Ade Coker stated that the NDC people’s manifesto has a lot to deliver for the people of Okaikoi North if voted massively for both JDM and Madam Lardi.
He lamented that the NDC has a lot of projects which he can point out to challenge the NPP what they have done for the people of Okaikoi North Constituency while in government.
“Let me state it clear that the reason of choosing a woman to represent the party in the upcoming general elections is to make sure that the party have all-inclusive governance and applying the affirmative action and given the women a role in politics.
In her response, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi North Constituency, Hon Theresa Lardi Awuni, assured the people of Okaikoi North she is going to be a mother for all not for few unlike the incumbent is doing now by sharing food and money to only a few people believing to be so call his party people during the lockdown event.
She said even doe she is not the MP yet but during the lockdown event she was able to share food and other items to each and everyone in the Constituency through a door to door delivery.
According to her, based on the track record of NDC in terms of infrastructure, social amenities and tremendous road network during their tenure of office.
She was optimistic that she is going to unseat the Hon Fusieni come 2020 general elections by 65% and increased H.E. John Dramani Mahama votes in Okaikoi North Constituency.
According to her, over the years the reason why the NPP have been dominating the Okaikoi North seat was due to division among party functionaries but now the NDC is over united.
