The International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) has pledged their commitment to support physically challenged Ghanaians through sports especially skate soccer.
According to the President of IFSS, Mr Sunil Lalvani, his organisation is a registered non-governmental organisation with an ultimate goal of [ads1]supporting physically challenged individuals to play the game at the highest level and participate in the Paralympics.
He said the IFSS would institute a Global Polio Fund which will cater for polio victims in Africa and the other parts of the World.
“We urge all corporate bodies and individuals to partner the IFSS in this venture as a social responsibility”, he said, adding that, through skate soccer the majority of the survivors of polio may discover their God-given talents in sports.
He added that they are committed to the development of the physically challenged especially polio victims through sports in Africa.
For a start, the NGO had lined up a series of international friendly football matches to be played from October this year to February next year between Ghana and some selected West African countries.
The fixtures will see Ghana playing against Nigeria in Lagos in October this year, then against Niger in Accra in December, before hosting Ivory Coast in January next year and Burkina Faso in February next year.
