Abronye’s comments come on the heels of a lecture organised by the Finance and Economic Team of the opposition NDC led by the Bolga Central MP which was a reaction to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s lecture at Wednesday’s Economic Management Team (EMT) Town Hall Meeting in Accra.

The lecture by the NDC’s Finance and Economic Team focused on identifying and addressing misleading facts and misrepresentations in Dr. Bawumia’s speech, especially on the free fall of the Ghana cedi.

Commenting on the NDC lecture, the outspoken NPP Communicator observed that the analysis given by Isaac Adongo at the lecture do not represent those of an economist but only fit for vending dog meat in his Constituency in the Upper East Region.

“I want to put on record that Isaac Adongo is not an economist, he only makes noise in this country about economics. I will send him to UK to study economics there and come back to teach John Mahama and the NDC economics, who can tell me which alternative Issac Adongo offered to us, he only did propaganda and jokes. All the analysis offered by Adongo are ones fit for selling dog meat at Bolga market not for managing an economy like Ghana”, Abronye DC said in a discussion on Accra-based Oman FM.

Abronye DC further expressed disappointment in former President John Mahama for “wasting” his time to attend the so-called economic forum to listen to people like Issac Adongo.

NDC Lecture

The Finance and Economic Team of the National Democratic Congress released economic figures to ‘expose’ what they described as “cooked figures” on Ghana’s debt to the gross domestic product (GDP) which Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia pegged at 48 per cent.

Dr Bawumia said Ghana’s debt to GDP stands at 48 per cent adding that the economy is seeing progress than it did under the erstwhile NDC government.

In response, Bolgatanga Central legislator, Isaac Adongo at a counter-economic lecture described Dr. Bawumia’s figures as inaccurate as they were outdated.

He said, the Vice President presented December 2018 figures of the country’s foreign debt and added same to March 2019 domestic debt.
