Hon. Naana Ackom Margaret, the MCE for Gomoa East, has declared her intentions to make the district a popular destination hub, Awake News can exclusively report.
Speaking to the residents of Gomoa East on her first day of work, Hon. Ackom expressed her resolve to use the well-known Kwahu Easter as inspiration to transform Gomoa East into a popular tourist destination.
Hon. Ackom reiterated her commitment to serving the people of Gomoa East after advancing through the ranks to become the person she is today.
“I’m a grassroots person. I worked my way up the ranks, contributing my fair share to the NDC’s success. As a youth, I shall not let down my fellow party members. My appointment is yours. “Let us work together, and I will make you proud by creating an enabling environment for all,” she stated.
Hon. Ackom also committed to prioritize the agriculture sector, acknowledging its importance to the district’s economy.
“Gomoa East is an agricultural hub for both crop and fishing. “I will pay special attention to the agricultural sector to boost agribusiness in the district,” she stated.
The MCE’s strategy for Gomoa East includes more than just economic growth. She stressed the need of diversity, noting that everyone, regardless of educational background, should collaborate.
“Whether you have a certificate or not, everyone must work. When we were energetically campaigning for power, no one requested foe certificates. So, whether you have one or not, no one should be left behind,” she said.
Hon. Ackom also recognized the accomplishments of Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyer, MP for Agona East, and took inspiration from the famous Yaa Asantewaa, stating that their reputation was not the result of coincidence or inactivity.
She pledged to follow in their footsteps and humbly pleaded to be remembered in the people’s prayers.
