In a post on Facebook, the Awake News’ Editor said he was waiting for someone at the bus stop as was standing on the pavement while making a call.

Knowing he was nowhere near the main road, he had less attention on what was happening around him only for a Trotro to clim the pavement to knock him down.

He thanked God for rescuing him from such a disturbing situation even though he is traumatized and edged pedestrians to be careful for there are many reckless drivers out there who may end our life when you least expect it.

Below is what he said in his post:

“This car almost killed me a while ago.
I was standing at a bus stop at Abeka (in between the Lapas traffic light and the Abeka Total). Whiles on the bus stop pavement making a call for a pickup, unknown to me, this driver climbed the pavement from the tail end with a reverse and nocked me.

It took the intervention of other motorists screaming to him to apply his break whiles he hit me. According to him, his driving mirrors are not good. And they trotro drivers always make such moves on the pavement.
Just had a minor injury but traumatized.

Thanks be to God
No matter how careful you are on the road, the recklessness of someone will just end your life. Let’s all be careful.”
