The embattled Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin South constituency, Hon. Ntim Fordjour, has firmly denied reports that he walked out of the popular current affairs program, Newsfile.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, April 5, has sparked controversy following claims made by the host, Samson Anyenini, and Sammy Gyamfi.
In a statement on X, Hon. Fordjour clarified that he was only scheduled to participate in a specific segment of the show.
“I never walked out of Newsfile, contrary to what Samson Ayenini and Sammy Gyamfi put out. I was billed for only a particular segment and was told another panelist was billed to take over after my segment,” he explained.
The MP emphasized that he left the studio after completing his allotted time and during a scheduled break.
“I left after my segment fully concluded and break was taken for me to exit while my replacement walked in to take her seat,” Fordjour stated.
He also accused Ayenini of biased and hostile hosting, which he said he pointed out before leaving.
Fordjour further alleged that Sammy Gyamfi filmed his exit and shared the footage on WhatsApp with misleading claims that he had walked out of the show. “Sammy Gyamfi filmed the exit and broadcasted falsely on his WhatsApp with claims of me walking out the show,” he said, while describing the video as “staged, not coincidence.”
