Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi expressed awe at Lamine Yamal’s standout performance in Barcelona’s 3-3 draw with Inter during their UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.

Playing away, Inter took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries. But Barcelona responded swiftly.

Yamal sparked the comeback by dribbling past three Inter defenders and scoring off the inside of the post. Ferran Torres equalized before halftime.

In the second half, Dumfries scored again to give Inter the lead. However, a shot from Raphinha deflected off goalkeeper Yann Sommer into the net, making it 3-3.

Yamal, playing his 100th game for Barcelona, was a constant threat on the right wing. The 17-year-old has now scored 22 goals and registered 33 assists for the club.

Reacting after the match, Inzaghi said, “I haven’t seen a player like Yamal in the last eight or nine years”. We had to put three players on him.

Barcelona hopes to reach the Champions League final for the first time in ten years. Inter Milan, the 2023 finalists, aim to win their first title in 15 years.
