Sheikh Uthman Nuh Shaributu’s visit to Christ The King Church last Sunday coincided with the last Easter celebration, which Islam does not recognise.

In view of this, some Moslems expressed resentment at the National Chief Imam’s visit, though others described it as symbolic and one that would foster religious unity and national peacebuilding.

Sheikh Arimiyaw Shaib, spokesperson of the Sheikh Uthman Nuhu Shaributu, explained that Sheikh Shaributu did not go to Christ The King to worship, but to send a signal to all the religious fates that religion must not set individuals apart.

He said Ghana has remained united by dint of the peaceful co-existent between the two major religious groups, therefore, neither Moslems nor Christians should not become sour because the National Chief Imam was at Christ The King Church.

Meanwhile, as part of his centenary birthday celebration today, a special public lecture to be delivered by Dr Ibn Chambas, has been scheduled in his honour.

Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas is a Special Representative of the UN, and President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Bawumia are the Special Guests of the Sheikh Shaributu at 100 public lecture, which is hinged on the peace and tolerance as the foundation for national development.
