The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) has apologised for hitting the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, on the face during a radio discussion in Accra yesterday.
In a press statement, Mr. Nana Boakye has expressed regret for his actions but asking his “junior colleague”, Sammy Gyamfi “to be decorous and respectful in his public utterances during such engagements and to, at all times, respect the high office of the President”
“Regardless of the repulsive, provocative conduct by the NDC’s National Communications Director on the show which included unacceptable verbal attacks on the President and myself, I am, upon sober reflection, apologising to listeners of Asempa FM and Ghanaians for the manner in which I responded.” – the Nana B said in the statement sighted by Awake News.
His apology comes after the youth wing of the NDC last night and an emergency press conference addressed its National Youth Organizer, Mr. George Opare Addo gave the police a 24-hour ultimatum to arrest Nana B over the assault.
“We demand the immediate arrest of the violent thug, Henry Nana Boakye within 24 hours. If by Monday, the arrest has not been affected, we will consider this an abdication of the responsibility of the police administration. We will have no other option than to mobilize our members to demand justice for our comrade.” – Mr. Opare Addo said
