Ahead of the presentation of the 2025 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament, Sammy Gyamfi, acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), expressed confidence that Ghanaians will soon realize that not all politicians operate the same way.

In a conversation with JoyNews Parliamentary correspondent, Kweku Asante, Gyamfi distinguished between politicians who use flattery to deceive the public for political gain and those who maintain integrity and honor their social contract with the people. He emphasized the importance of leadership that is driven by principles rather than opportunistic tactics.

While acknowledging that some politicians resort to dishonesty and empty promises to secure power, Gyamfi praised President John Dramani Mahama for his unwavering respect for the people and the social contract.

He affirmed that the leadership of Mahama stands apart from others who prioritize personal gain over the well-being of the nation.

“I am confident that today, Ghanaians will come to the realisation that all politicians are not the same. There are those who flatter to deceive just for purposes of power, and there are those who lie their way into office with no respect to their social contract with the people,” he said.

Gyamfi further assured the public that the upcoming budget would reflect the government’s commitment to the promises made during the 120-day social contract and its manifesto.

He stressed that the budget presentation would mark a clear demonstration of the administration’s dedication to fulfilling its promises to the people.

As Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, prepares to present the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy on March 11, Gyamfi highlighted that this will be the first comprehensive financial roadmap of the Mahama administration since it assumed office.
