Horrible accident claims life of a business tycoon, 3 others on Akatsi to Aflao Road

Four people died while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident involving an Aflao-bound Lexus Sportsplus 44 vehicle and the popular Mahama Camboo Moto bike at Akatsi on the Accra-Aflao bypass road.

Some eyewitnesses within the municipality who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that the accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
They explained that the accident was caused by excessive speed and loss of control by the 2022 Lexus driver who rammed the bikes.

They added that 10 people were involved in the accident, which comprised 7 men and 3 women, saying that 5 people got injured and four people died, comprising three men and one woman.

 

According to Volta Online reporter, eyewitnesses told the media that, the driver of the Lexus was attempting to avoid an object in his lane but lost control, swerving into oncoming traffic and crashing into the passenger tricycle and motorbike, resulting in the instant death of the occupants – a woman and three men.

The deputy communication officer of the opposition NDC in the Akatsi South constituency described the crash as an avoidable act if caution had been taken, using a common-sense speed limit.

He urged motorists to always obey traffic rules and regulations, especially speed violations.

On a newspaper review segment program on Kaleawo FM, he commiserated with the families of the victims on behalf of his party, the NDC.

The incident has left the municipality in a state of deep grief.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to St. Paul Hospital’s morgue for preservation, while the police have commenced investigations into the accident.
