JB Danquah and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah

Nkrumah Never Dies – this is not just a saying but word that will live with Ghanaians many more generations to come as the man, Dr. Kwame Nkramah’s legacies even 52 years after his death continue to benefit and empower the country.

Recently President Akufo-Addo reintroduced the debate over those who founded Ghana saying he completely disagrees that Ghana was founded by the sole efforts of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

Just as the dust on President Akufo-Addo’s claim with many Ghanaians disagreeing with him especially as he attempts to project his uncle Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah over Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, fresh evidence has emerge again on how JB Danquah kicked against the hydroelectric project (Akosombo Dam).

Mr. Ben Dotse Malor, Chief Editor – UN News at United Nations shared excerpt from page 168 of  Dr Susan Williams’s book “WHITE MALICE” on how “Dr Joseph Boakye Danquah, leader of the opposition, de- scribed the hydroelectric project as a ‘communist inspired prestige undertaking” and ‘tried his utmost to ditch the project”.

Read what Mr. Malor posted on his Facebook page:

HISTORY – IMPORTANT HISTORY 🇬🇭: Fellow Ghanaians, if you’re using (or benefitting from) the Akosombo Hydroelectric Dam today, then thank God, Kwame Nkrumah’s arch-enemy did not succeed.
Here is an excerpt from page 168 of the book, “WHITE MALICE” by Dr Susan Williams of SOAS, University of London.

Not all Nkrumah’s policies were popular with everybody. Some Ghanaians had reservations about his massive project to build the Volta River dam at Akosombo in order to produce hydroelectric power for processing Ghana’s bauxite into aluminium. ‘New na- tions’, declared Nkrumah, ‘which are determined by every possible means to catch up in industrial strength’, must aim for ‘large-scale industrial advance. Electricity is the basis for industrialisation’.  But Dr Joseph Boakye Danquah, leader of the opposition, de- scribed the hydroelectric project as a ‘communist inspired prestige undertaking’. He ‘tried his utmost to ditch the project. – excerpt from page 168 of the book, “WHITE MALICE” by Dr Susan Williams of SOAS, University of London
