The Ministry of Health has dismissed assertions made by former Finance Minister Dr. Amin Adams regarding the alleged completion of three hospitals under the Agenda 111 initiative before the previous administration left office.
In a statement released on March 4, 2025, the Ministry urged the public to disregard these claims, emphasizing that a recent inspection of the Trede, Kokoben, and Ahanta hospital sites confirmed that all three facilities remain incomplete and lack the necessary medical equipment.
The Ministry clarified that although $400 million has been spent on the project so far, none of the 111 district hospitals under construction have been completed or are operational. It also revealed that the estimated cost to finish the entire initiative now stands at $1.589 billion.
Furthermore, an additional $8.03 million will be required to equip and operationalize the Trede, Kokoben, and Ahanta hospitals.
Reaffirming its dedication to strengthening the healthcare system, the Ministry reassured the public that it remains committed to completing the hospitals as swiftly as possible.
