The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh received the shock of his life after he paid a surprise visit to Ridge Hospital on Friday, April 11, 2025.
He said the facility has seriously declined, especially in the emergency unit.
He revealed that important equipment like the MRI and CT scan machines haven’t worked for over two years, and even the washrooms in the emergency area are all broken.
Akandoh told the staff to focus on patients instead of fighting among themselves and warned that Ridge Hospital shouldn’t turn into a place for endless disputes.
He also criticized the idea that government should always pay for repairs, even though the hospital earns money from using the equipment.
His visit has gotten people talking, with many calling for urgent action to fix things and bring the hospital back to its former standard.
