The Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu has commissioned and handed over 10 auxiliary health facilities to the Ghana Health Service in the Central Region.
The health Centers are: Bimpong Egya Polyclinic in TAM district – 15 bed capacity, Akunfude Polyclinic – 15 bed capacity and Biriwa Polyclinic- 30 bed capacity were commissioned and handed over to GHS respectively.
These projects forms part of the ten health facilities in the Central Region which are to be commissioned by the minister and handed over to the GHS for use.
The remaining seven health facilities, each at Narkwa, Etsii Sunkwa, Bisease, Jamra, Mankrong, Dawurampong and Potsin will be commissioned and handed over on August 16 – 17 .
Each of these health facilities has a theatre, maternity ward, laboratory unit, pharmacy unit, injection and dressing room, and few other units.
The Minister of Health, Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu in his speech urged managers to ensure good management practices and maintenance culture. He also implored staff to improve on their customer care.
At the event were the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, some Regional and District Health administrators,traditional leaders together with various District Assembly Officers and other key stakeholders.
