Popular Ghanaian radio presenter, Harry Adjoa Owusu Kusi, known professionally as DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, has made shocking allegations against the CEO of Angel FM, Vincent Opare.
In a lengthy post on her Facebook page, Ohemaa Woyeje detailed a litany of complaints against Opare, accusing him of misconduct, unprofessionalism, and bullying.
According to Ohemaa Woyeje, Opare has been orchestrating a campaign to frustrate her and undermine her work at the station.
She alleged that Opare would often ask her to hand over gifts of money from guests who appeared on her show, claiming that he needed the funds to buy electricity.
Ohemaa Woyeje also accused Opare of lying about her behaviour to the station’s owner, Dr. Kwaku Oteng.
She claimed that Opare told Dr. Oteng that she had insulted him over the phone, which she vehemently denied.
“I was queried for introducing Saddick Adams as our morning show host, which I didn’t goof,” Ohemaa Woyeje wrote.
“He lied to Dr. Oteng that I called his phone to insult him, which never existed. He and Barbara, the commercial director, mounted pressure on Apeanti to query me over a lie they orchestrated that I used the platform to solicit funds for Okomfuor Kwaadee, which never happened.”
Ohemaa Woyeje further alleged that Opare had instructed thugs to block her entry into the Angel FM building, leading to a scuffle.
She also claimed that Opare had intentionally denied her an office, despite assurances from Dr. Oteng that she would be provided with one.
The popular radio presenter also accused Opare of being a dictator, who threatens workers with dismissal at the slightest provocation.
She claimed that Opare had stopped payment of tokens to resource persons and had dictated the radio content, despite having no media background.
Ohemaa Woyeje’s allegations have sparked widespread outrage and sympathy, with many calling for Opare to be held accountable for his actions. Dr. Kwaku Oteng has since disassociated himself from Opare’s alleged misconduct, stating that the CEO acted on his own discretion.
“I want to assure the general public that Dr. Kwaku Oteng has continually advised the CEO to desist from frustrating my contract, but to no avail,” Ohemaa Woyeje wrote.
“Dr. Oteng has therefore disassociated himself from the unlawful act Vincent Opare has committed and clears the station from all related charges.”
