Ghanaian Afro-fusion star Gyakie has named Omar Sterling, also known as Paedae of R2Bees, as her all-time favourite Ghanaian rapper.
Speaking on Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM, Gyakie shared why Sterling stands out to her.“My favourite rapper in Ghana now is Omar Sterling of R2Bees. He’s always been. Yes, he’s my all-time favourite Ghanaian rapper,” she said.
Gyakie praised Sterling’s lyrical style, describing him as a poet and storyteller. “He shares stories about his life or things happening in real time. The way he puts the lyrics together helps listeners understand what he’s saying. That always makes me happy,” she explained.
She added that Omar Sterling’s unique approach to rap makes him a standout writer and storyteller.
Although she doesn’t rap, Gyakie admitted she enjoys the genre and sometimes fuses rap into her music.
She also said her sound is influenced by a mix of genres she grew up with, making her music eclectic and rich.
Gyakie is currently promoting her new single, Sankofa, as she gears up to release her debut album, After Midnight.
