The Greater Accra Zabarma Chief and President of Ghana Zabarma Association, Sarki Alhaji Pro-Umar Abubakar Tanko, has appealed to chiefs and elders of Osu Traditional Area to ensure a peaceful and successful Homowo festival this year.
The Zabarma Chief said due to the COVID-19 pandemic and measures put in place by the Osu Mantse who doubles as President Of Greater Accra House Of Chiefs, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI and the Traditional Area towards the celebration of the traditional festival this year, the Homowo should be very peaceful and successful.
He called on the chiefs and people of Osu to adhere to the directives outlined by government in mitigating the further spread of the virus when celebrating and observing the customary rites (sprinkle of Kpokpoi).
He again called on the security agencies to ensure that citizens did not take the law into their hands.
Sarki Pro-Umar Tanko extended his warmest greetings to the chiefs and people of Osu as they celebrate the Homowo.
He added that as Greater Accra Zabarma Chief and the cordial relations with the Ga Traditional Council, there is the need for him join hands with the good people of Osu to celebrate this year’s Homowo.
Sarki Pro-Umar Tanko wished the people of Osu a fruitful and prosperous Homowo and expressed the hope that they would be able to overcome all the challenges that may confront them during this year’s Homowo and assured that the Zabarma community in Greater Accra under his leadership will always make itself available at any time.
