The National Teaching Council (NTC) has set the fee for the remarking of the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) at 600 cedis.
Dr. Christian Addai Poku, the Registrar for the NTC told the leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) of the 600 cedis during a meeting which was held in Accra on August 5, 2021.
Explaining how a teacher who failed the licensure exams can apply for remarking, Dr. Addai Poku said that “such candidates must write a letter to the NTC requesting a script review”.
After writing the letter, the candidate’s next step is to pay 600 cedis to the NTC’s account at designated banks.
Teachers have been left unimpressed with the huge remarking fees especially considering that the exams costs 280 cedis and believes that the huge remarking fees is a tactic to prevent them from applying for the remarking but rather “scare” them into writing the licensure exams anew.
