[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa has indicated government’s readiness to partner already existing factories in order to boost production and create employment for the teeming youth in the region.

He said government is in no way, intending to compete with local companies but rather partner them in achieving a successful [ads1]implementation of the flagship one-district-one-factory project.

He disclosed this during a familiarization tour of the Kingdom Premium Fruits Limited, an Agro-base processing industry located at Tafi, in the Afadjato South District.

Mr. Felix Semavor, chairman of Kingdom group, in an interaction with the Minister and his entourage at the premises of the company, says the Kingdom fruits which began operations in 2007, currently employs about 200 workers with the aim of expanding in the future.

Dr. Letsa together with the Afadjato South DCE Hon. Wisdom Seneadza and other officials after touring the production house, assured the operators of Kingdom fruits that, government does not intend setting up parallel factories to compete with existing ones but rather partner them to increase production in order to create more employment.

The regional minister also made whistle stops at similar factories including the Kente weaving enclave at Tafi and the Ministry of Agric’s pack house facility at Vakpo , all in the Afadjato South District.

As a subsidiary of the Kingdom Group Limited, Kingdom fruit Premium fruits produces mango and pineapple juice close to an average of 500 tonnes with the Volta Integrated Agriculture Development (VIAD) as its source of unprocessed fruits.
