Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has confirmed that the government has transferred GH¢987,965,730 to the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) as the first-quarter allocation for 2025.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, June 3, Dr. Forson said the funds were released on Monday, June 2, from the Consolidated Fund, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting local governance and development.
“This amount represents the first-quarter allocation for the 2025 fiscal year,” he noted. “The Administrator of the DACF must ensure that 80% of the funds are disbursed directly to the district assemblies without delay.”
Dr. Forson added that no additional disbursements will be made unless assemblies submit expenditure reports to the Ministry of Finance.
He also urged Members of Parliament to monitor how the funds are spent in their constituencies.
“MPs must ensure that the funds are used in line with cabinet-approved guidelines under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration,” he said.
