Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has revealed that since assuming office, his team at the Finance Ministry has been thoroughly reviewing all existing contracts. He explained that his focus has been on examining payment requests to ensure they are valid and legitimate.

In response to rumors suggesting that the government has begun paying contractors for their work, Dr. Forson set the record straight. He emphasized that no contractor, including Kennedy Agyapong, has received any payments under his watch.

Sharing his statement on X, he clarified, “Friends, since I took office, no contractor—Kennedy Agyapong included—has been paid a single pesewa. We are currently carrying out a thorough review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy. Please ignore any claims that I’ve authorized payments to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor. Thank you!”

This statement comes amid accusations that some contractors linked to the opposition New Patriotic Party are being paid by the government.
