Fellow Ghanaians, this government of Nana Akufo Addo needs help as to how to govern the country.
If Ghanaians should leave the running of the government to them alone, we will one day wake up and the unexpected would have happened. This week, we woke up to another drama by this government to go to Dubai to bring Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) to Ghana to face charges to defaulting Ghanaians. As I speak, a high-powered delegation is unnecessarily in Debai at the expense of the Ghanaian tax payer.
When this government peacefully took over the running of the country in January 7, 2017, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) was in the business of defrauding people and instead of the government to follow up what the NDC did and close the business, they rather came to promote it until it became Menzgold that we know today. There are several things this government did to promote NAM 1, including accepting him to finance their political campaigns, accepting him to finance our premier league, traveling with government officials, visiting the President as and when and many others. In fact, it is on record that the business of NAM 1 boomed in 2017 to its highest level than any year in its history, after he received an endorsement from the President of Ghana at the Flagstaff House.
Between January 2017 and September 2018, the government of Nana Addo didn’t see it fit to arrest NAM 1, even though they knew the kind of business he was doing. It was in January 2019, when people started demonstrating to demand their monies from Menzgold that we were told that NAM 1 had broken bail in September 2018 and left the country. In January 2019, we were informed that NAM 1 had been arrested in Dubai. As if that will end the drama, we have been told that a high-powered delegation from EOCO, Attorney General’s office and others are in Dubai to arrange for the Dubai authorities to release NAM 1 to face prosecution in Ghana. Why can’t this government stop joking?
This is where I blame the Menzgold customers. They should have stormed the airport and prevented the government delegation from traveling, knowing very well that, the government is just pretending to act. Does it make any sense to have NAM 1 leave Ghana, travel to Dubai and then spend tax payers money to go and bring him back? This is why I call on Ghanaians to help this government run the country. It has no clue what it is doing. These delegations will fly first class, sleep in five star hotel, do shopping, come back and tell us stories. I would not be surprised if the delegation would be made up of more than 10 people.
Do we remember the Philip Addison Committee that flew to this same Dubai to find out why the Ameri deal was over-priced? They came back and told us stories. At the end of the day, the overpriced Ameri deal was renegotiated from $500,000 to $1.2 billion after the President had been misled to sign the new contract. What is the customers expecting from this delegation in Dubai? Absolutely nothing will come out of it and this is why the customers should have prevented the delegation from traveling. They should continue to demand their monies to be paid to them. Their monies can be paid to them in the absence of NAM 1, after all, Menzgold has other Directors. If the customers are waiting for this government to bring NAM 1 from Dubai before they can begin to receive their monies, then I can assure them that they have a long way to go. They should continue with the pressure on the government to get them their monies. This government is clueless on what they are doing and unless they help them recover their monies, they should just forget about it. The delegation in Dubai is just another way the government is using to waste our time and resources as it pretends to act. I shouldn’t be the one to tell them. Refer to the Philip Addison Committee in Dubai. Lol.
