As part of preparations towards the coronation of cabinet members of Gbawe Gonse Zongo Chief, Sarki Ahmed Mohammed Abass, a Qur’an recitation was held as a prelude to the main event on Sunday.
The Qur’an citation was to seek guidance from the Almighty Allah for a successful coronation and to pray for the people of Gbawe Gonse and other neighboring communities.
Other activities such as health walk and football gala will also take place on Saturday January 13, 2024 as part of preparation towards the coronation.
In an interview with the media, the Greater Accra Peace Ambassador, Nii Amarh Kpatalo revealed that the health walk and the football gala competition is aimed at bringing the youth and people of Gonse under one umbrella to foster unity and development.
He stated that his outfit is in consultation with other stakeholders to engage the youth on the need to promote peace and educate them on negative effects of electoral violence especially on women and children.
According to Nii Amarh Kpatalo II, the Sunday event will offer the Zongo Chief of Gbawe Gonse the opportunity to advise the youth to stay away from any form of violence.
He called on the Youth to be Ambassadors and promote peace before, during and after the 2024 election. The event he said is expected to be an event that will bring Christians, Muslims and other religious leaders together as one people in the community.
The Greater Accra Peace Ambassador described 2024 as a year to preach, togetherness and show love to one another no matter one’s religion, tribe or political affiliation.
He commended the Zongo Chief of Gbawe Gonse for his efforts and support towards promoting peace and togetherness within the people under his jurisdiction and beyond.
Dignitaries to grace the occasion includes the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Greater Accra Zabarma Chief, Sarki Musah Yendu, Sowutuom Mantse Nii Osabu Akwai II, Chief of Joma, Sarki Musah Nso, Nii Nortey Ahmed Caesar and a host of others.
