Social commentator and Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has added his voice to those demanding the removal of Ghana’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Dame, from office.
Mr. Cudjoe, who initially had reservations about the allegations leveled against the Attorney General, said in a Facebook post that: “And l am sorry. I was wrong about the AG’s inability to do what he has been accused of. …. He must go.”
His comment comes following the airing of audio materials which captured Godfred Dame and one Jakpa engaging in a conversation. The audio was released by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in a press conference addressed by the party’s National Chairman, John Asiedu Nketia.
In the aired audios, the Godfred Dame could be heard demanding Jakpa to give testimonies to implicate Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, in the ongoing ambulance trial.
According to Jakpa who is also been trialed in the same case, the AG promised to let him off the hook if he could testify against Hon. Forson.
However, Jakpa turned down the request, saying he could not engage in such conduct which could land the MP in jail for causing financial loss to the state.
