President Akufo Addo’s overhyped anti-corruption crusade has descended into chaos. His integrity suffered a grave blow when Dr Maurice Ampaw disclosed on Neat FM an Accra based Radio Station that President Akufo Addo and the NPP including himself, have soon forgotten their “The battle is the Lord” and zero tolerance for corruption campaign mantra and have made corruption and arrogance core pillars [ads1]of the administration.
He verbally cautioned the President and the NPP about the dire implications of their actions. He said already the President and some of his appointees are tainted by scandals which is good for a party that accused the previous administration of corruption.
Dr Maurice Ampaw questioned why government appointees and government communicators are attacking Anas Amereyaw Anas over his corruption exposure. He said the President and the Presidency are abiding in, if not abetting, corruption when it touches appointees of the administration.
“Today, Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP have soon forgotten their battle is the Lord mantra. They have stopped fighting corruption as they promised in opposition. They are now embracing corruption and attacking anti-corruption crusaders. God should forgive Nana Addo and the NPP for deceiving Ghanaians and God himself.” he said.
He told the host that the NPP has already lost 500,000 of the votes it got in the 2016 election. He disclosed that people attacking Anas Amereyaw Anas on radio, social media and on Television are people either working at the Presidency or close to the government. He said the Akufo Addo-led administration has lost the trust of Ghanaians and that lack of trust has further contributed to the problems arising in the various parts of the country.
He said the trust Ghanaians voted this government for was because it promised us it will weed out corruption, but when they get there they are doing the opposite.
