Plans by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to soil the remarkable achievements of the Akufo-Addo led government and make the New Patriotic Party (NPP) unpopular among Ghanaians and the world has been exposed, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has stated.
The Assin Central MP says the shooting incident that happened at the NDC head office in the Ashanti Region allegedly involving some members of the opposition party’s vigilante group “The Hawks” is a confirmation that the NDC is deliberately unleashing violence to create the impression that the current NPP government is unable to manage the country and protect the lives of citizens.
Mr. Agyapong said the recent wave of assaults recorded at political gatherings is a strategy the NDC has deployed to deceive Ghanaians into kicking out the NPP in the 2020 elections.
“It is God who has exposed them. They (NDC) have seen that the way NPP is governing the country, it’ll be very difficult for them to win power so their first option is to create violence and panic in this country and they were succeeding,” he asserted during a discussion on Net2 TV’s ‘Dialogue’.
He accused former President John Mahama of trying to scare foreign investors from coming into the country by showing videos of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence to the diplomats.
“Mahama has forgotten that meeting and showing the videos to the foreign diplomats and making them understand that Ghana isn’t safe, you’re killing foreign investment. Why would investors come here when the country isn’t safe? We’re promoting tourism which is currently thriving,” the MP noted.
He added, “What does he seek to achieve? Because of his selfish interest that he planned in 2018 to destabilize this country and make the whole world see that Ghana is not safe to investments and holidays.”
The controversial Legislator claims he has evidence of all the plans that some key members of the NDC are orchestrating to cause unrest in the country and sabotage the NPP administration.
“I have a lot of audio and video recordings that will shock you. Some people are planning to destabilize the country, destroy water bodies and forests with galamsey. We have seasoned journalists who are behind this galamsey. They call Ministers to threaten them because they have information from cabinet about which ministers support galamsey,” he insisted.
