The General Legal Council on Wednesday 28th November, has dismissed a suit filed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong against investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The MP dragged Anas to the GLC, in July this year claiming that Anas misconducted himself professionally as a lawyer in a manner that bordered on “moral turpitude.”

In a letter dated July 5th, and addressed to the Chairperson of Disciplinary Committee of the Legal Council asked that disciplinary action be taken against the investigative ace journalist.

The GLC however, declined jurisdiction in the matter on the grounds that Anas was not a lawyer at the time the alleged incident happened.

It further directed the MP to report Anas to the police if he felt Anas was corrupt.
