Social media is awash with messages from fans in remembrance of late Ghanaian sensational songstress, Ebony Reigns.
Born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, Ebony Reigns died on February 8, 2018 in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway while returning to Accra after she visited her mother in the Brong Ahafo Regional capital.
The dancehall diva was killed alongside her childhood friend, Franky Kuri and a military officer Francis Atsu Vondee who is believed to be their bodyguard.
The ‘Kupe’ hitmaker’s death came as a shock to Ghanaians and threw the entire nation into a state of mourning.
As today marks exactly a year the sad incident happened, fans of the afrobeats musician have taken to social media platforms to commemorate her first anniversary.
Many are still in shock over Ohemaa’s untimely death as they share pictures with heartfelt messages.
Popular Ghanaian, DKB tweeted, “I woke up this morning around the same time last year when I was called that Ebony had died in a car crash, the pains still feel fresh. A young life cut short by bad roads. Can’t believe it’s already 1 year, man for do fast then born sef!”
“Ohemaa it’s already one year. Time runs fast. If you gave me a wish I would wish you told your father to shut up and allow you rest in peace,” he said in another tweet.
Joy FM in remembrance of Ebony questions authorities on what measures they have put in place to ensure roads are safe from carnage.
“Ebony died in a road accident. 1 year later, what have we learned? What have we done to help keep lives safe?” Joy 99.7 FM asks in a tweet.
Celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Debrah posted a video of Ebony on his Twitter handle with the caption, “Remembering Ebony”.
