The National Men’s Rugby team is currently preparing to participate in the Africa Men’s Sevens Tournament in Kampala, Uganda, scheduled for October 6, 2017.

The Ghanaian side would compete against nine other African nations, namely Botswana, Madagascar, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

According to the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), the tournament serves as the qualifier for the Sevens Rugby World Cup 2018, the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, and the Hong Kong Sevens.

Ghana Rugby is officially a full member of both World Rugby and Rugby Afrique West Africa.

The Herbert Mensah led administration of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, has therefore urged corporate organisations to support the team as they prepare for the qualifiers in Kampala.

He said “the tournament provides excellent opportunities for multinationals to get good brand exposure as the tournament will include many African countries.
