A close source at the Ghana School of Law has revealed that this decision was taken at an Academic Board meeting held on Thursday, January 16th.

According to our source, a number of lecturers in an evaluation of the director’s performance at the meeting cited him as the cause of all the problems bedevilling legal education and the performance of the school.

According to them, the poor leadership skills of Mr. Kwasi Prempeh Erk has resulted in a situation which has brought the name of the Ghana School it Law, the General Legal Council and Lecturers into disrepute.

Mr. Kwasi Prempeh Erk has failed to show leadership through poor decision making and bad advocacy skills. This created a huge gap that needed to be filled.

Due to his passive posture the general legal council has become the ’de facto’ management of the school and this has affected the school adversely.

This has deteriorated to the extent that students do not even seek the help of management when trying to resolve their issues. They either deal with the GLC directly or get things done through external means.

According to the lectures the director of legal education had failed to come out with credible advise and proposals to the General Legal Council on current challenges of legal education and the way forward.

Readers may recall that in recent times there have been reports of mass failure at the Ghana School of Law leading to agitations from students who went on a demonstration, petitioned the President, Parliament and former President Mahama without any concrete results so far
