The ‘Red Tour’ is an initiative of GALs World, which educates girls on their menstrual health in addition to awareness creation on its management as well as teenage pregnancy and free distribution of sanitary pads to the girls.

This year’s event which took place on Friday, October 26, 2018, saw a consolidated partnership between GALs World and YAM, the Legon Chapter of PPAG to embark on this laudable initiative.

The North Tongu District Coordinator of GES, Madam Veronica Lumor led the team upon arrival to the various schools in the district.

As part of the activities for the day, girls in about eight different schools were educated and sensitized on Menstrual health and management, teenage pregnancy and its adverse implications. The day was climaxed with free distribution of pads to these young ladies.

The boys, on the other hand, were not left out, they were educated on career development and abstinence from s.e.x.

The team visited the Mepe RC JHS, Mepe Presby JHS, Battor D/A JHS, Battor RC JHS and Manya Methodist JHS.

Others included; Aveyime RC JHS, United DA Methodist JHS, and Aveyime Methodist JHS.

Madam Veronica Lumor expressed her gratitude and happiness. She applauded GALs for this initiative.

“I want to thank GALs World for embarking on this great initiative. This is a laudable initiative and I am so happy to be part of it,” she said.

The Event Coordinator for GALs World, Lady Harriet Kaku Yaba in an interview with Fnnewsonline.com threw more light on the Red Tour and expressed her gratitude to all team members and the few sponsors who have supported the Red Tour.

Lady Harriet Kaku took the opportunity to appeal to all Corporate bodies, Churches, and individuals to come on board to take this initiative to other regions.

She also made a passionate call on the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to come to the aid of his people and join GALs World to do more.

She said;

“I want to thank all our ladies for their undying support since we established GALs World.”

“I am appealing to all corporate bodies, religious bodies, individuals and groups to also come on board to take this great initiative nationwide.”

“This is a special call on Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to join GALs World in order to do more for these girls.”
