Galamsey extortion: Yaw Boadu fingers Ernest Aduanaba, Darlington Boampong

The former Special Monitoring and Evacuation Officer with the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Nana Yaw Boadu has begun naming his alleged accomplices over reasons why has was arrested by the Asokwa Police three days ago in Kumasi.

Deep throat sources within the Security told Awake News, Nana Yaw Boadu has accused Darlington Bill Boampong, an Officer with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and Mr. Ernerst Adu Anambra, an Special Aide to Minister of Environment Science and Innovation as his accomplices.

However, speaking to Awake News, Mr. Bill Boateng and Mr. Aduanaba have both dismissed Nana Yaw Boadu allegations as false and maintained they have nothing do with his actions that have finally landed him in the hands of the police.

According to Mr. Bill Boateng, the said Nana Yaw Boadu has over sometimes now been using his name to allegedly defraud people for which he also wanted him arrested. He added that since Nana Yaw is now in the grips of the police, he will proceed to the Asokwa Police station to file his complaints against him.

If you recalled, Nana Yaw Boadu who was responsible for moving all seized mining pieces of equipment into safekeeping was arrested by the Asokwa Police over accusations that he has designed a scheme that sort to extort various amount of money from some small scale miners whose equipments were seized.

Owners of Mining Equipments, mostly excavators for which his office had seized, lodged complaints at the Asokwa Police over exorbitant extortion amounts of about GHS 70,000 per head.

The complaints, who out of desperation to get their seized equipments allegedly paid the GHc70,000 and an additional GHc30,000 to Nana Yaw Boadu since May 2020 but have still not taken possession of their equipments and upon realizing the lies being told them by Nana Yaw, decided to inform the Asokwa police after they were alerted of his presence in the area.

Awake News has learnt that during Police interrogations, Mr. Yaw Boadu alleged that he works with Darlington who placed the role of a middle man in the scheme.

Nana Yaw is also said to have mentioned that the seized movable 4×4 vehicles and pickups were sent to Burma camp but he has failed to disclose under whose instruction and safekeeping, the vehicles have been sent there.
