According to the NDC Youth leader, all those who came out were either paid 50cedis and a bowl of rice or were friends and associates of the Sakawa Boys of Akyem who have their Chairman to be Nana Addo.

He said the Sakawa Boys within the NPP government include Nana Addo himself as the chairman, Gabby Okyere Darko, Nana Asante Bediato and others Akyem people who together with Nana Addo want to hijack Ghana.

According to him, his National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is an Akyem and his direct boss Lawyer George Opare Addo is also Akyem and others who are good citizens and not fraudulent like Agyapa and PDS partners.

He also said the those who demonstrated didn’t understand why they did so but just wanted to show solidarity with their Sakawa business partners and has, therefore, asked the people of Ghana to ignore them.

“If there is an ethnic group that should demonstrate for name calling, it should be Ewes and Northern because Nana Addo himself has severally insulted Voltarians and has refused to apologize, his National Chairman and General secretary also did same so even if John Mahama called Akyem people Sakawa, Nana still have no moral right to even comment on it.” he said.

The Akyem Sakawa Boys saga erupted following Bolgataga Central MP, Issac Adongo post which was amplified by former President John Mahama making President Akufo-Addo angry and calling on civil society to condemn the action by the former President.

Today, a group of Akyems embarked on demonstration against former President Mahama asking him to retract the comment and apologize but the Spokesperson for the John Mahama 2020 Campaign said the former President will not apologize.
