Franklin Cudjoe, President of Imani Africa, has raised concerns about the removal of George Akuffo Dampare as Inspector General of Police (IGP), suggesting that the decision was influenced more by emotions than by substantive evidence.

Dampare has been replaced by Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who is expected to bring about reforms within the Ghana Police Service.

The decision has sparked mixed reactions, with police officers expressing support, while Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have voiced their disapproval.

In a social media post, Cudjoe emphasized the importance of making decisions based on evidence, stating, “The day our leaders will make important decisions based on evidence rather than on hearsay and emotions, we would have arrived.”
