The International Director of Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches for Africa, Bishop Jerry Sowah has observed it would take only Godly leaders to transform Ghana into a developed nation where the better future of the next generation of children can be secured.
According to him, corruption is fast wreaking havoc on the Ghanaian economy largely making it difficult for the country to develop as a result of the sinful attitude of most church leaders who have found themselves in bed with some corrupt government officials due to monetary gains.
[ads1]”We have leaders who have compromised their values because of what they’re going to get. Now they have soiled their hands because they walk with politicians”, he averred.
Bishop Sowah made this observation while delivering a sermon at the ordination and investiture service of the Reverend Minister Obed Danquah last Saturday at Elmina in the Central Region.
The ordination ceremony brought together scores of Ministers of the God apostles, deacons, prophets and prophetess from various non-denominational churches across the country who converged at the Enriching Lives Ministries Church at Elmina to offer their support and blessing to the newly ordained man of God.
Bishop Sowah performing the ordination rites charges, Rev. Obed Danquah to be a staunch representative of Jesus Christ on earth, a light to the world, preach the gospel to masses and win souls for Christ.
The newly ordained Minister, Rev. Obed Danquah who doubles as the Founder of Morgan International Community School (MICS) and Entrepreneurship Training Institute (ETI) in Accra could not hide his joy to be given the amour to serve in the Lord’s vineyard.
Until his elevation to the office of a Minister of God, Rev. Obed Danquah, a serial entrepreneur and a philanthropist has already devoted his service to God as the General Overseer of Enriching Lives Ministries, a church established to equip Christians with doctrinal and inspirational teachings and preaching to advance their course of understanding biblically, and with particular emphasis on faith, spiritual growth, social justice and economic and financial progression of individuals in the church.
Delivering a sermon from the book of Proverbs chapter 14:34, the powerful man of God, a teacher of the word who also doubles as the Presiding Prelate of Koinonia Assembly Network of Churches, Bishop Jerry Sowah admonished church leaders, preachers and Ministers of the gospel to live a righteous life in conformity of God’s word in order to bring salvation to mankind.
Reflecting on the same scriptures quoted from the book above which says: “Righteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to all people, Bishop Sowah maintains a lot of Christians are living ungodly life owing to the typical example of so much evil being perpetrated in our society today.
Citing corruption as the main problem, he equally frown on same sex marriages including other immoral activities which have crept into the fabric of the society, dominating the airwaves as the most sensitive issues and becoming a nuisance and a barrier to national development.
“We have a lot of churches around, every Sunday we see a lot of people with their Bibles, some hiding them in their bags whiles other brandishing it for everyone to know that they’re from the church, but we’re still in the midst of so much evil, why?, he quizzed.
He further stated: “We have allowed the world to come into the church and improvised that a little bit so that the church would accept to be part of our norm”
“How will you tell me that a holy ghost filled person who is a female can sleep with another female and you tell me that is modernization or modernity if you like?. That’s only foolishness and madness of a higher attitude”, he fumed.
He, however, concluded that if the church would allow righteousness to guide and govern, it would take over the state and the values of the kingdom would be propagated in the nation.
For his part the newly inducted Rev. Minister, Obed Danquah said, ” The Holy Spirit is working to cause many experienced, financially sound, grown-ups and people of exposure and dignity to come into the ministry of Jesus Christ to preach the truth of the Word. His view was that, these calibres of people will begin to turn around a rather abusive ministry that the desperate and hungry for money people are using God’s word to amass money at the expense of the poor congregation. Quoting from Ezekiel 34:16a, Rev. Obed Danquah emphasised, ” I will seek what was lost and bring back what has driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick”. He said, it is about time Christians all over the world fast and pray to edify the Word of Jesus Christ.
