A sizable cocaine cargo has been seized on the Takoradi-Cape Coast highway, raising questions about possible political meddling in the inquiry.

The Hogvan truck that the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) stopped was transporting about 120 slabs of cocaine worth $150 million.

During questioning, the driver allegedly implicated a certain Charles Hagan, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, as the owner of the illicit cargo.

Hagan, also known as “Panya,” was reportedly taken into custody but later released, fueling speculation about political influence.

Sources close to the investigation claim that Charles Kippo, the NIB director, has been in communication with the presidency, raising concerns that the probe may be compromised.

The involvement of high-ranking officials has sparked fears that the investigation may be swept under the carpet.
