The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi Constituency and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has been warned that he and others who plan to cause trouble in the December 7 election, will face severe consequences.
Former MP for Kumbungu Constituency, Ras Mubarak, stated that the Abetifi lawmaker could meet a grim fate if he and others attempt to subvert the will of Ghanaian voters.
His statement came in response to a recent remark by Mr. Acheampong, in which he asserted that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) would not hand over power to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) even if the latter wins the December 7 polls. He also stated that they [NPP] would do whatever is necessary to remain in power.
“So, we would do whatever it takes to win the elections. We are a political party that has pastors, imams, and traditionalists so whatever means we would take to win the elections, we would do so. Burn the sea if you don’t understand, we’ll win and continue with our good works,” the Agric Minister said at a well-attended rally in Nsawam, on Sunday, August 11.
However, Ras Mubarak emphasized that Acheampong is not the only Ghanaian man with strength.
He threatened to personally deal with Mr. Acheampong before handing him over to the authorities if he dares to incite violence in December.
In a Facebook post, the former Kumbungu lawmaker wrote, “[Bryan Acheampong] thinks he’s the only Ghanaian male with two balls. He and cowards like him who think like this should try subverting the will of the people and see how quickly they would visit their ancestors. A former US soldier my backside. I’ll personally beat the crap out of him before dragging him to go face justice. He should try it, he’ll be finding out he’s actually a woman, and not a man.”
