Former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, who also served as MP for Akwapim North Constituency, has been sued together with one Abigail Kwartey, over a nude video they were accused of leaking.

A leaked nude video involving Ghanaian brand influencer Tina Mensah has led to a GHC20 million lawsuit against two individuals—Abigail Kwarteng and former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, who also served as MP for Akwapim North Constituency.

In court documents filed at the Accra High Court, Tina Mensah, a social media influencer who is currently based in Germany, accuses Kwarteng (1st Defendant) of secretly recording her naked as she stepped out of a bathroom during a visit to Kumasi on February 18, 2025. The lawsuit alleges that Kwarteng later shared the video with the former MP (2nd Defendant), who then circulated it on WhatsApp before it spread across social media platforms, including TikTok and Facebook.

The influencer is demanding GHC20 million in general and aggravated damages, a court declaration that the video’s publication was defamatory, and a public apology from both defendants.

How the Incident Unfolded

According to the statement of claim, the incident occurred at Kwarteng’s home in Kumasi, where she allegedly accused Mensah of fraudulently promising German visas to individuals. Startled by the accusation, the influencer rushed out of the bathroom unclothed when Kwarteng reportedly recorded her without consent.

Mensah later received the video from an unknown number and confronted Kwarteng, who allegedly admitted to filming and sharing it with Dokua. The plaintiff claims both defendants deliberately spread the footage to tarnish her reputation.

Fallout from the Scandal

The influencer says the leaked video has cost her endorsement deals, business opportunities, and even led to the collapse of her engagement. She reported the matter to the Suntreso Police, leading to Kwarteng’s arrest.

She was charged and arraigned before the Kwaadaso Circuit Court, where she was remanded pending further proceedings. Police have also summoned the former Akuapem North MP for questioning, but she has yet to respond.
