The Tema Regional Police Command has appealed to the general public for any information that will lead to the arrest of suspects who attacked a Forex Bureau at Tema Community One. The incident took place on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, around 1730hours.
According to the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Tema Regional Police Command, ASP/Mr. Joseph Benefo Darkwah, four armed men on board a Toyota corolla with registration number GR 4208-17 attacked and robbed Mintason Forex Bureau at Community 1, Site 17, near MTN office amidst firing of gunshots.
He said Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and various points within the metropolis. The Suspects on sighting the Police, absconded on a motor bike which was snatched from the public, abandoning the car they used for the robbery in the process. They also made away with an unspecified amount of local and foreign currencies.
The Police retrieved from the scene, a magazine loaded with one live 9mm ammunition, the car used for the robbery and additional car number plate bearing registration GR 2619-17.
Meanwhile the car of the suspects together with other exhibits have been impounded at the Regional Police Headquarters. Full scale investigations into the incident is ongoing.
