Collins Adomako Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to address the ongoing power outages in the country.
He expressed concern over the discomfort caused by the erratic power cuts, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” which he believes requires immediate leadership to resolve.
In a social media post, Mensah emphasized that the current administration should not blame the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for the issue, as little has been done to address it despite promises to do so. He pointed out that the power challenges were effectively managed under the previous government.
Mensah’s post was directed at Eric Edem Agbana, criticizing the government’s shifting narrative regarding the power crisis. He mentioned that while earlier complaints were directed at former President Nana Akufo-Addo, now the issue is being linked to specific ECG offices in Denu and Akatsi.
He stressed that the power situation in the Ashanti region is even worse and questioned the government’s assurances that there would be no need for load-shedding schedules.
Concluding his statement, Mensah reiterated his frustration with the leadership’s failure to address the issue, writing, “What we feel now is HEAT! Leadership, leadership, leadership! Just fix it.”
