Five Persons Arrested For Robbing Small Scale Mining Site

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ive suspects who were arrested for robbing a small scale mining site at Moseaso in the Nkawie District has been paraded by the Police in the Ashanti Region.

The suspects, according to the police attacked and robbed their victim’s whiles on their way to the site and bolted through Essouwin-Dotwi Forest.

The five suspects whose names were given as Gyimah Richard, 17, Abdul Rashid, 20, Salasi Clitus, 21, Samuel Owuso, 20 and Salifu, 18 were arrested by the Nkwaie police command on Friday 2nd June 2017 [ads1]after a worker from the mining company reported that seven young men wearing covers and wielding two pump action guns attacked and robbed them of an unknown value of their black gold concentrate.

Addressing a news conference, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah said one of the suspects, Abdul Rashid, confessed in his caution statement that one of his accomplices, Gyimah Richard who is a worker at the company contacted them to rob his colleague.

Meanwhile the five are in police custody assisting in investigation.
